Sternal Awl

Sternal Awl Sternal Awl can be useful in cardiothoracic surgical procedures specifically in making access holes through the sternum. These holes can be created to thread stainless steel wire through to close up the incision of a midline sternotomy, the awl can be useful both in creation of the holes as well as in threading the wire through. This instrument is designed with a large cylindrical shaped handle and a sharpened drill-like point for ease in penetration of the sternum.
